Branded workwear helps identify your staff in the busy airport and airside environment, both to customers and other organisations. But beyond the practicalities of bespoke aviation uniforms that feature company logos, branded workwear instils a sense of belonging and professionalism in your employees and creates a consistent brand image.
While embroidery is the traditional method of customising and personalising workwear, an alternative method is heat sealing, also known as heat transfer.
What is heatseal printing?
The heatseal process involves heating a coloured transfer and applying it to a garment using an industrial heat press. This method results in a permanent, colour-fast addition to the clothing, making it an ideal way to prominently feature a company logo on a uniform. Heatseal can be applied in many colours to perfectly match your brand logo and can withstand industrial washing without peeling or fading.
What workwear is suitable for heatseal printing?
Heatseal transfers can be used on a variety of cotton and polycotton clothes, as well as airport safety clothing, synthetic clothing, and high visibility PPE. Heatseal transfers can work particularly well when a large format logo is needed, for example, on the back of a high-vis vest, to identify staff working on the ramp or refuelling, even at a distance.
Scandinavian aviation services provider Aviator trusts Contego Aviation to brand high-quality PPE and safety clothing. We provide many clients with customised workwear for passenger and baggage handling, as well as de-icing, cargo and freight handling, featuring professional heatseal transfer logos.
Embroidery or heatseal?
A few factors determine whether heatseal branding or embroidery is most appropriate. Tailored workwear for front of house airport staff or airport security staff, for example, is often more suited to the premium look and feel of embroidered logos. However, high visibility and synthetic fabrics are better suited to heatseal applications.
Another important consideration is whether the garment needs to be waterproof. Heat seal printing is highly suited to waterproof applications as it does not puncture the garment in the way that embroidery application will. Size is also a factor – large logos work particularly well with heatseal transfers. Contego Aviation can help advise on the best methods to achieve uniform brand consistency across the roles in your organisation.
How long does heatseal printing take?
Once you’ve selected which corporate workwear and PPE clothing you need from our aviation range, we can help you decide how best to feature your company logo. When you have supplied us with your logo or artwork, we’ll mock-up the design for your approval, before the heatseal process begins. Our experienced team will be able to advise the best application methods for your branding project. From there, we apply the chosen method and can pack up uniforms for each employee using our WEARPACK® service, ready for easy internal distribution to your staff. The process can take less than a week from design approval to dispatch.
